The work begins slowly and softly, as more motion and drama builds. Eventually, the little flickers of motion take over, with a groovy reflection of the opening material. This energy reaches a breaking point, returning to the opening material with a sense of desperation. Finally, all of this energy recedes, and the performer is left with the echoes of this conflict in one resolute – if questioning – chord.
