Of Dances by Robert Bridge

Of Dances was composed to introduce the most common four-mallet marimba techniques, in a “harmonically friendly” atmosphere. It is loosely bases on common dance rhythms. For example, the introduction is a cascara rhythm in the right hand and a clave rhythm in the left. This gives way, in part 1, to a permutation based on the clave rhythm.
