Description
For marimba and electronics.
The “God particle” is the nickname of a subatomic particle called the Higgs boson and it is believed to be the particle which gives mass to matter, in other words it makes it “exist” in our physical realm. This heavily important particle and its behavior was a direct inspiration for writing the piece. I have noticed a correlation of this particle and the world of electronic sounds. The basic sound-waves are modified and manipulated to create bigger groups of interactions. These groups are shaping the form of the composition. It is like giving music to the sound like the Higgs boson gives the matter to an nonphysical. The complex marimba part seats on the top of the chain of creation, giving the absolute meaning to any other event. This piece tries to explore the hidden, particle world of music.
