Chega de Saudade by Antonio Jobim arr. Gary Burton

Gary Burton’s performance of “Chega De Saudade” from the Grammy award winning recording “Alone at last” is quite possibly the most famous solo vibraphone performance to date. The transcription of this historical recording, exposes Gary Burton’s technique of interpretation, comping, improvising, pedaling and dampening. Transcription by Errol Rackipov.

The notation is arranged on two staffs, accentuating the contrast between melody and accompaniment. The original chord changes are included for quick reference. The work can be performed solo or with an ensemble.
