Beatboxing Robot by Anthony Bartolo

Beatboxing Robot pairs drum sound and electronics as if the drum was played through an effects processor. In one section, the electronics set up a soundscape and the performer must add texture by improvising sounds using the strainer, muffle and open strokes on the drumhead and more. The electronic sounds I created for this piece are mostly percussive and should make it difficult for the listener to tell what is acoustic and what is not. Written for a Black Swamp 5×14 ply maple drum with Multisonic snare system.
