Wind Sketch II by Keiko Abe

Wind Sketch II by Keiko Abe adds a second marimba to the original solo version, creating a duet that enriches the entire musical experience. This piece creates some interesting textures – many parts are like a chorale and a groove combined into one musical expression.

Both players will need four mallets, and in typical Keiko style the mood wildly changes throughout the piece. At one point both players will be rolling on some nicely orchestrated chords, and ten seconds later they’ll be playing a hocket at fortissimo.
