Unclear Faces by Kylle Strunk

Unclear Faces represents a point, any point, in someone’s life when it is unclear what is happening. The piece creates a sense of escape in a time of uneasiness. It showcases its theme through a motivic use of three-versus-four polyrhythms, which are constantly switched between performers. It is also heard in the melodic and harmonic devices and in the instrumentation contrast between a marimba and a multi-percussion setup.
