Description
Tiger Tala is a two movement piece for solo Timpani and electronics. It grew out of a fascination with Indian music and in particular my love of its complex rhythms and cross rhythms; a completely captivating musical world filled with ‘Ragas’, ‘Taals’, ‘Talas’ and ‘Teenthals’.Â
Using the rhythmic vitality, timbre and melodic possibilities of the Timpani combined with an electronic track recorded with live percussion instruments and synthesizers, Tiger Tala evokes vivid and colourful images of the Indian landscape!
