Three Marimba Etudes, Vol. 2 extend the etude concept from Volume 1. These pieces are longer, more compositionally complex, and physically more demanding. They may be performed as a suite or as stand-alone pieces. The fifth etude includes a shorthand notation to facilitate reading for the extensive “triple laterals” motion.
