Description
The Devil’s Bolero is based upon a melodic motif from one of Dick Schory’s earlier compositions written in collaboration with Willis Charkovsky. Scored for ten percussionist, Harp, Guitar, Piano and String Bass, the work features a solo snare drummer performing on three different pitched drums. Opening with a moderate Bolero rhythm, the number develops into a driving, un-tempo Paso Doble which continues to feature the Snare Drum Trio and adds Timpani, Tambourine, Castanets, Break Drum, Tom-Toms and lots of Cymbals.
