The title Sweet Bread is inspired by “King Cake,” which is a traditional dessert served around the time of Mardi Gras. The instrumentation for this piece is similar to the instruments you may hear at Mardi Gras parades throughout the state of Louisiana. Part of the Ignite Series, the piece has a lot of built-in flexibility with instrumentation.
