Description
Jim Chapin has been called “the most renowned non-famous jazz drummer in the world.” Many of the world’s great drummers credit their skills in part to Jim’s teaching and his books, Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer, Volumes I and II.
His first book was released in 1948 and outlined his style known as “coordinated independence” – the ability to play a different beat with each hand – which is now standard among drummers.
Chapin has played with many great musicians, from Tommy Dorsey and Woody Herman to Simon and Garfunkel.
This DVD will help increase your Speed, Power, Control and Endurance. The exercises and examples will enable you to play accented and non-accented stickings with equal ease. It also demonstrates how power is generated by a whipping “down-stroke” motion.
Whether a beginner or an accomplished drummer, this system will greatly improve your sticking technique and increase your endurance on the drum set.
