Snare Drum – Rudimental Exercises and Interpretaton by Christian Berg

The Norwegian title “Lilletromme” is one of the words for snare drum, and of course the instrument of focus when using this book. You are holding a product of my experiences both as an orchestral performer and percussion teacher. The exercises and methods contained in this book are tools I have used over the years, and still use on a daily basis.

There are many different publications of snare drumming on the market today. Lilletromme is a specific book meant to give the drummer with a special interest in the classical repertoire, the proper applications needed to develop as an orchestral musician.

Lilletromme consists of two parts. The first part of the book incorporates daily exercises with technique. Working your way through these chapters may seem a bit one dimensional, however my intention is to clearly divide the different techniques and let you as a musician, fill up your toolbox.
