Silent Sentinels by Paul Judge

Silent Sentinels is a musical discussion about the Moai statues on Easter Island; why are they there, what do they mean and what are they watching for?  The piece is a vibraphone trio featuring a recurring descending ostinato and a spacious, syncopated melody that encapsulates the mystery surrounding the stone carvings. The resonant timbre and colour of the vibraphone give an ‘other-worldly’ feel to the piece, painting the listener an ethereal portrait of these majestic creations.
