Description

The first idea of a title for this piece was “Sept danses d’un choux-fleur”, the seven dances of a shoot-up cauliflower, whose bizarre shape is to be musically rendered. The title suggests that this is a picturesque piece.
The idiosyncratic, rugged, strange form of a cauliflower – especially one that is home-grown and does not conform to any EU-DIN standard – is musically reproduced in a groovy and bizarre way. Seven parts, jazzy passages, bizarre sound sequences, romantic-melodic parts and frequent time changes with odd time signatures – music that “goes off” but retains its individuality.
