Pearl PHP1325 13×2.5” Philharmonic Maple Pancake Snare Drum

The Pearl Philharmonic Pancake Snare Drum has an absolutely tiny design, 13″ x 2.5″ with a maple shell. This drum is designed to meet the increasingly strenuous demands within the audition circuit and contemporary music in general, which is always asking for things to be quieter, more nuanced, and more delicate.

The 8-ply maple shell provides a warmth of sound even with the small stature of the drum. Single-point lugs allow for absolute tuning consistency of the top and bottom heads and sit next to each other, instead of the typical in-line design in order to compensate for the short shell.

The famous Philharmonic Series Triad Strainer is modified to better fit the piccolo drums but still allows the player to adjust each of the three wire assemblies. These three assemblies are made up of thin guitar wires, so even at a whisper-quiet dynamic level there is still a notable snare response that comes through.

The single-flanged rims offer tuning stability at a higher concert range and when using thin-profile heads like the Remo M5 Renaissance head that comes on the drum so it is performance ready right out of the box.
