Description
Number Theory, Vol. 2Â is a collection of works that link musical characteristics to other disciplines using numbers 1-5 as the common thread. These works vary not only in difficulty (intending from intermediate to medium-advanced high school percussionists) but also a range of extra-musical topics that can be explored away from the practice room. The inspiration of each work in Vol. 2 consists of:
I. Theme and Variations:Â A sweet lullaby takes on many forms: a fun frolicking through the meadow, a moment of ennui, a disorientating descent into organized chaos, and a curious coda of celebration.
II. Arch:Â Rounding out the numeric theme of the Number Theory collection, Arch presents a groove-based exploration of the number 5. Notable moments include a vocal-based ostinato, breakdown sections, and an improvised vibraphone solo.
