Mendara by Walter Mertens

In this piece the timpani plays a melodic, dramatic theme with a strong drive and many pedal changes. The tape produces a soundscape by using a broad scale of percussion instruments and loops. The 3 parts: Mysterioso, Con forza & Largo gives the timpanist the opportunity to expose their musicality and technical skills.
