Maddie by Robert Sanderl

Written as a Christmas gift for the composer’s goddaughter, Maddie features a expressive melodicism through rubato, moving lines. A brief rolled chorale showacases the rich qualities of the lowest octaves of the marimba before returning to the opening melodies and bringing the piece to a close.
