Written for the Ithaca College (NY) Summer Music Academy, this piece will challenge each performer to play a variety of standard percussion instruments. Through the three connected sections — a fast 3/4, a slow melodic 4/4 interlude, and a driving 6/8 — each member of the group plays a short solo feature. The melodic interlude features everyone on mallet instruments. Although conceived as a quartet, more players could be added by splitting up the various instruments assigned to each part.
