Description
Latin Rhythms for Tuba and Percussion was commissioned by Gary Brattin for his concert of May 10th, 1989, at the Monfort Auditorium, Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, Colorado. This premiere was performed by Mr. Brattin, tubist, and Terry Vermillion, percussionist.
The work consists of an Introduction and three movements titled:
1. Tangoletto
2. Bossalina Nova
3. Chat Chat Chat
The rhythms and percussion instruments are drawn from Afro-Cuban sources common to Latin American cultures.
