Kiwi Fruit By Matthew Lorick

Kiwi Fruit was written as an idea after I had a vivid dream; I traveled an entire lifetime in what seemed an endless journey, only to wake up and realize it was just temporary. The reoccurring melodies depict travel; the beginning and end describe growing up, reflecting on being young and then the end of life. The middle passages symbolize the coming-of-age. The title reflects the first thing that I had to eat that morning, and it stuck with me all of these years. – Matthew Lorick
