Introduction by Kyle H. Peters is a short, musically expressive work designed to introduce students to four-mallet technique.

Like the other pieces in Peters’ Five Miniatures for Marimba, it is designed to be playable using either three or four mallets on a standard 4.3-octave (low A) marimba. Single alternating strokes on the left hand are a focus of this work, while repetition and tempo flexibility are used to help young performers hone their technique in a very musical context.
