Description
This adaptation of the fugue for full percussion ensemble explores the versatile sonic capabilities of keyboard percussion instruments and creatively incorporates various battery and accessory percussion instruments in ways that make this movement exhilarating to listen to and perform. With many different timbres and textures layered together underneath the fugue’s familiar subject – and an underlying beat that is hard to shake off – a new, more percussive perspective is given to one of Bach’s most masterful works.
