E.P.O. – Education Project Opener, written for 2 professional percussionists, has proved to be one of the most useful pieces I’ve ever written. For the majority of schools visits or education projects I would have another percussionist presenting with me, and so this piece with its flamboyant snare drum and floor tom writing, a few stick clicking tricks and packed full of humour, is always a terrific start to any education scenario. There is an element of acting and improvisation required as well, but this all adds up to giving the start of any presentation the ‘wow’ factor!
