Enduring by S Johnson

Enduring is a four mallet marimba solo in which the theme is presented and varied throughout. The thematic material is treated with subtle changes in rhythm but more stark contrasts are achieved through changes in dynamics, tempo, and sticking patterns that evolve with each change in mood. There are two sections that are not repeated and serve as textural contrast. Due to the intermediate difficulty level, and length, this piece is well suited for auditions, juries, or recitals.
