Eckie’s Beat is a syncopated, groove-based cadence by Caleb Mooneyham. Originally composed for the Mississippi State University drumline, the title pays homage to the geography of MSU. Eckie’s Pond is a quiet sanctuary on campus – one of the university’s oldest landmarks. The drumline’s walk to football games is known as “Eckie’s Walk” because it used to originate at the pond.
