Description

Composed in 2023, Brighter Day is a simple work specifically written for a 4.3-octave marimba. It explores technical aspects of coordination and independence between the right hand and the left hand. The work expresses a longing for a brighter day in amongst the atrocities that the world is currently experiencing and has been for the past few years in particular.

Brighter Day is commissioned by Marimbafest 2023, Perth for the A Class Division of the Marimbafest 2023 Marimba Competition.
