About Mo Longo
Maureen “Mo” Longo (b. 1985) received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from the University of Dayton, where she was a three-time Honors Recital finalist and winner of the Concerto Aria Competition. Mo then received a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Wright State University, where she was selected for the Honors Recital and earned the 1st place scholarship for her solo marimba performance.
Currently traveling full-time, Mo is a freelance musician and educator. She writes music for classical percussion, marching bands, and competitive indoor percussion ensembles. In addition to composing, she teaches percussion clinics around the country.
Preceding full-time travel, Mo was the Percussion Director at Beavercreek City Schools and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dayton. Prior to that, she worked as a board certified Music Therapist with Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care. Since 2007, Mo has been on the instructional staff with numerous scholastic and independent marching ensembles throughout Ohio and Illinois.
Mo has toured the United States and Europe with DCI and WGI as a member of the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps and Matrix Performing Arts, and has performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and the Ohio Music Educators Conference.
Mo is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and she proudly endorses Innovative Percussion products.
