These versatile multi-timbre mallets were designed primarily for musical theatre and contemporary music situations to facilitate fluid changes between playing different percussion instruments, and help reduce the potential logistical challenges prevalent in many music theatre and contemporary music percussion parts. Useful in any genre of music or environment wherein swift changes may be required; an all purpose ‘get out of jail’ stick made of the highest quality materials, and as used in London’s glittering West End.

About Ian Cape

Born in Edinburgh, Ian has held the percussion chair at Les Miserablés (the worlds longest running musical) in London’s West End since June 2011. This follows a record-breaking tour with the re-orchestrated 25th Anniversary production of the show.

Whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music, Ian began a varied freelance career playing across a smorgasbord of genres and styles.

Classical work includes:

  • BBC Concert Orchestra
  • Rambert Ballet
  • Aurora
  • Hallé.

Commercial work includes:

  • Queen guitarist Brian May
  • singers Alison Moyet, and Lemar

  • and shaking/hitting/scraping things for assorted films/adverts/video games/ tv projects!

His musical endeavours have resulted in many interesting experiences including playing aeroplane engines in Bologna, tom-toms (instead of timps) in Damascus, and the vacuum cleaner, dressed as a budding housewife.
