Three Grooves was written with the idea of being portable and exciting to play. Usually multiple percussion solos call for a large variety of instruments. However, the composer of this piece wanted to have a work which could easily use instruments that are found in a band room or from a drumset. These grooves are challenging yet fun to play. Throughout the three grooves the performer will be faced with shifting time signatures and occasional use of independence within each hand.
