Diddle was written for the Drumline of Exempel in Empel (NL) as a testpiece during David’s test conducting back in 2017. Diddle is a short Swiss snaredrumsolo with American rudiments involved. Typical Swiss are the “endstreichs” (every last measure in the bar is the same) and the usage of the “doublé” (inverted flamtaps), the variations on the paradiddles are the American influence in this drumsolo. This combination makes it both technical as musical a challenge to play. Enjoy!
