Sarmientos is a well-known conductor and composer in his native Guatemala. This important work has been available only in manuscript for many years, but now it has been engraved and fully corrected by the composer. A three-movement work of great vitality with Guatemalan-influenced rhythms and melodies, it is performable by any good collegiate marimbist.
