and we meet again… began as fragments of ideas. As the piece came together, it wasn’t until revisiting these ideas many times before the piece developed into its current form. Sometimes we must encounter something (or someone) again and again before we can truly begin to comprehend or connect. and we meet again… now represents a rebirth of what I once knew. An ostinato in the bass marimba lays the foundation in the opening of the piece. As the pattern continues, the composition develops into something much more than the fragments that originated this work. B minor dominates throughout, but there are phrases where major peaks through, brightening up moments we didn’t even realize were dark.
