2 Mallets – 20 miniatures for marimba or xylophone by Cyrill Schurch

There are a few “standard” method books that are frequently used to teach the basics to beginners on the marimba or the xylophone. During a chat with my colleague and fellow teacher Raphael Christen, he suggested that it would be nice to have some new pieces to teach to his students. The idea stuck with me and within a few weeks, I was inspired to compose most of the pieces found in this collection. They are quirky, humorous and instructive miniatures that can be played on their own, or for even more fun, accompanied by marimba or piano. Enjoy!
