Isaac Pyatt is a composer and percussionist, studying at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Music. He graduated high school from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He has studied with the composers Alejandro Rutty and Mark Engebretson, and the percussionists Eric Willie and John Beck. His compositions have been featured in new student works concerts and solo recitals. He tends to draw influence from the entire musical world in which he is immersed – from Baroque counterpoint to pop/rock – to create accessible concert music that can interest the listener and challenge the performers. 

As an active performing percussionist, he regularly performs in a variety of ensembles at UNCG, which led to a performance at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in San Antonio, TX in 2015, performs solo recitals outside of school, and works as an educator with the Ledford High School Marching Band. In the past, he has attended North Carolina Governor’s School, Leigh Howard Steven’s Marimba Seminar, and Brevard Music Center.
