Bird Calls, Whistles and Motor Horns
Sometimes known as the cyclist's road clearer, this unmistakable sound. This complex whistle, made with watchmaker's precision, was the beginning of the Acme range of orchestral whistles and musical sound effects that remain popular to this day.
Two resonant liquid chambers are connected by a long steel spiral. The Galaxy is held in one hand, while the other hand holds a beater, and it may be played something like a classical triangle. By slightly altering the position of the Galaxy, liquid inside the two chambers exerts variable dampening on the thin steel resonator plates.
The MEINL Helix Bowl is a wonderful new instrument consisting of a steel helix welded to a resonating chamber.
