Jorg Fabig was born in 1972 in Frankfurt am Main. After high school he studied mathematics and physics in Frankfurt. From 1994 to 1999 he studied at the Faculty of Music of the University of Mainz percussion with Walter Reiter and Jürgen Friedel. In 1998 he was inducted into the promotion of "Live Music Now Frankfurt eV".
During his studies played Jorg Fabig several large German musical productions (including "Les Miserables" in Duisburg, "Joseph and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat" in Essen, "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" in Stuttgart) and two years as timpanist and percussionist of Chursachsische Philharmonic Bad Elster. After graduating, he worked at the English Theatre Frankfurt and the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt and at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden in numerous musical theater productions. He also works with chamber music productions of Mutare Ensemble Frankfurt and was involved as a soloist and orchestral musician in numerous premieres and first contemporary music. In March 2006, he appeared as a soloist, in a benefit concert for the 10th anniversary of "Live Music Now Frankfurt eV" in the Frankfurt Opera, accompanied by the Frankfurt Museum Orchestra under Hans Drewanz, with Ney Rosauros Marimbakonzert no. 1 in. In May 2011 he became the first artist in Germany after the composer himself the "Serenata for Marimba / Vibraphone (1 player) and String Orchestra" with the Collegium Musicum Aschaffenburg under the direction of Prof. Hubert Buchberger.
Since April 2000, Jörg Fabig taught as a staff percussion teacher at the Municipal School of Music Aschaffenburg. His students, especially his percussion ensembles, achieved numerous awards at all levels of competition "Young Musicians". The work environment includes top-level support as width Working in cooperative projects with general education. Since 2009, Jorg Fabig also acts as project manager and head of department at the Music School Aschaffenburg. From October to December 2012, he was employed as kommisarischer principal of the Municipal School of Music Aschaffenburg.
When Musikverlag Zimmermann Frankfurt appeared in 2003, his rookie school "Snare Drum from the beginning", who was honored in 2004 with the "Best Edition" Prize of the German Music Publishers' Association. His solo collection for Drumset "The Groove Monster and the eighth Rocker" is also published by Zimmermann Musikverlag, works for Jörg Fabig as an external expert lecturer. In 2007, he developed novel Playalong concept for the beginner lessons appeared with "Drum Along" from Bosworth Music on the drumset. With now seven volumes, the brand "Drum Along" has become the most successful German Play-Along product for drumset. In April 2011, Jörg Fabigs school appeared "starter drum set" in the prestigious publisher Schott, Mainz.
The design and publication of contemporary teaching materials is a focus of activity Jörg Fabigs, in addition, it publishes regularly in the major German music teaching media.
In March 2008, Jörg Fabig was elected to the Association Vice President of Percussion Creativ, the trade association for drummers in Germany.
From April 2008 to September 2012 he took a teaching position at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Dusseldorf. Since January 2013 passes Jorg Fabig the percussion class in the study department of the Wiesbaden Academy of Music.
As a lecturer at specialist training for instrumental teaching both drums specific as for cross-curricular themes Jorg Fabig operates inter alia for the Association of German music schools and various academies throughout the German-speaking countries.
Jorg Fabig plays drums and Mallets Yamaha as well as pool and Paiste Percussive sounds of hammers with Vic Firth.
